About Central Instrument Laboratory (CIL)
The Central Instrument Laboratory (CIL), University of Port Harcourt is a scientific procedural laboratory that supports the institution’s core values (teaching, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation); and facilitates research in accordance with international best practices for the benefit of scientific discovery, development and technological advancement.

The CIL was established in July, 2007, and approved by the senate of University of Port Harcourt in October, 2007. The CIL is focused on providing a state-of-the-art ISO (International Standard Organization) compliant analytical and environmental service to researchers, project supervisors and supervisees, entrepreneurs, industrialists, environmental consultants, governmental and non-governmental agencies, regulatory agencies, inter-laboratory analysis and the general public; as well as participate in the accreditation exercise of Departments, Centres and Institutes in the University.
